Home Visits
Home visits are reserved for patients who are too ill to attend the surgery on medical grounds. The doctor can see four or five patients in surgery in the time it takes to make a house visit. Please request home visits before 10.00am for a visit that day. The receptionist may need to ask you one or two questions to try to assess the urgency of the call. A doctor may also speak to you; this helps the doctors to plan their day efficiently.
You can be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
