Appointments

How to see your Doctor

The practice operates an appointments system for doctors and consultation hours are:

  • 8.30am to 11.00am - Monday to Friday
  • 1.30pm to 3.30pm & 2.45pm and 5.15pm - Monday to Thursday
  • 1.30pm to 3.30pm & 2.15pm to 4.45pm – Friday
  • 6.00pm to 7.30pm – Weekly between Monday and Thursday

Where there is a clinical need, patients will be seen within 48 hours.

On-the-day emergency appointments

If you feel you need to be seen urgently for a medical problem that cannot safely wait 48 hours, our reception team will ask for some brief details about your symptoms. This information will be passed to our Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP), who will contact you to assess your needs and ensure you receive the most appropriate care.
Following this assessment, you may be:
  • Given advice and support over the telephone;
  • Offered an appointment with the Advanced Nurse Practitioner; or
  • Arranged to see a GP if required.
Please note that our same-day triage service operates until 2.00 pm each day. However, the service may close earlier if we have reached the safe clinical capacity limits recommended under BMA guidance. Once capacity has been reached, patients will be directed to the most appropriate alternative service.
Demand for GP appointments continues to be very high, and these changes help us ensure patients receive the right care, from the right clinician, at the right time, while maintaining safe levels of care for all our patients.
Please remember that many health concerns can also be effectively managed by your local pharmacist, optician or dentist, who can often provide quicker access to advice and treatment for appropriate conditions.
